The Kindness ROCKS ONEbean
Coffee Project
We are excited
to announce our recent partnership with the ONEbean Coffee Company. This is our
favourite and most unique fundraising initiative, which not only helps bring Kindness ROCKS to thousands of students
throughout Canada, but also helps to raise money
for other non-profit organizations as well!
Here are the ways that you can get involved
in the ONEbean Coffee Project…
Become a Partner
We
are interested in partnering with Schools, School boards, PAC’s, Sports leagues
& teams, Rotary & Lions Clubs, Seniors Organizations, Individuals and
Community groups, to sell fair-trade, organic coffee throughout your school,
organization or community. Half of the proceeds would go to Kindness ROCKS and
half would go directly to your cause or organization. Here is an example of
what you can raise for your organization. The below totals reflect your share
of the proceeds!
$3600.00
based
on 1lb bags at $18ea, with $2.50 going to your organization
Many people who try ONEbean coffee, keep on ordering it. The
revenue from those repeat orders, continues to go to your organization, for
potentially years to come! As an example, if 60 people were to buy 2 bags of
coffee every month for a year, an additional $3600 would go directly to your
cause!

How Fair Trade works
Over
25 million farmers and coffee workers in more than 50 countries produce coffee
worldwide. When you buy Certified FAIR TRADE coffee, (always accompanied by the
logo above) you're helping improve the working conditions and quality of life
for many. Fair Trade is an organized social movement which focuses on goods
being exported from underdeveloped economic areas into more established
markets. Fair Trade practices are now helping coffee farmers as well as
producers of such products as cocoa, honey, bananas, tea, cotton, wine and
handicrafts.
Under fair trade guideline, the coffee farmer receives an agreed upon minimum price for their products. When you see the Fair Trade logo on the coffee you buy from ONEbean you can be assured that the purchasing of the 'green' (unroasted) coffee beans is being monitored closely. Not only do the coffee farmers receive a fair price for their products, but the Fair Trade program includes a mechanism to bring social change to the farming community and includes the following:
Certified Organic - more than a buzzword
Certified Organic refers to a series of controls placed
on coffee growers by the Organic Crop Improvement Association. All OCIA
certified products are all natural and free of pesticides. With these harmful
chemicals removed from the agricultural process, farm workers and their
families have a brighter future, and even you, the consumer, are guaranteed a
healthier coffee experience.
