Moon Coin is a small, ancient town in Kilkenny, Ireland where Jeanette’s Grandfather (Edmond O’Keeffe) was a well-known band leader and where her very musical and creative father (Walter O’Keeffe) was born and raised. One beautiful, sunny, but cold afternoon in January 2003, Jeanette and Jonas were walking through the bird sanctuary near their home talking about the future of their new, but name-less production company, when Jonas mentioned how much the scenery reminded him of what Ireland would look like, although he had never been there before.

Jeanette began talking about the time she spent in Ireland, in particular, the town of her creative roots and ancestors, “Moon Coin”. Jonas commented on what a cool name he thought that would be for a band! Later that evening, Jonas asked “Okay, what are we going to call our company”? Jeanette said “How about, Moon Coin Productions”? Jonas instantly agreed, they clinked their wine glasses together and the rest is history…or should I say…..history in the making.
